سُررت بمقابلة الدكتور العزيز فراس جرار مسؤول مختبر الياه سات في جامعة خليفة و برفقة المهندس المبدع حمزة عيسى والحديث حول اخر التطورات والمستجدات في تصنيع الأقمار الصناعية ( Cube Sat)  وبعض التجارب التي تجري في المختبر والتي تكون مماثلة لجو الفضاء ومدى تأثيرها على القمر الصناعي ويوجد غرفة تحكم أيضاً لمتابعته ومراقبته في الفضاء .

- ويقوم “ماي سات – 1″، القمر المصمم لأغراض تعليمية، بالتقاط صور لدولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة من الفضاء بغرض استعراض عملية الاستشعار عن بعد ، كما سيختبر القمر الصناعي أيضًا بطارية ليثيوم أيون جديدة تم تصميمها وتطويرها في جامعة خليفة.
وكجزء من برنامج دراسة الطلبة الملتحقين ببرنامج الماجستير في تخصص نظم وتقنيات الفضاء.. يعمل الطلبة على مشاريع بحثية ذات صلة ببناء الأقمار الصناعية الصغيرة ” كيوب سات “.. حيث يقدم المختبر لطلبة جامعة خليفة وأعضاء الهيئة الأكاديمية المرافق اللازمة لبناء واختبار أقمار صناعية صغيرة.

The Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, a research-driven graduate-level institution focused on advanced energy and sustainable technologies, and Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat), have announced the launch of the Yahsat Space Laboratory at the Masdar Institute campus. 

The lab has been designed to provide students and faculty of the Masdar Institute Master’s concentration in space systems and technology with the facilities required to construct, test and launch miniature satellite CubeSats. The high-tech and specialized research facilities within the lab will also support the development of intellectual capital required to advance the space and aerospace sectors. Additionally, the lab will serve as a platform for future research in space technologies, allowing the UAE Space Agency to work with the Institute and other partners on collaborative projects that facilitate the advancement of the local space sector.
